What is the Fire Emblem?
The Fire Emblem, the object the game is named after, appears in many of the games, however it's role changes with each game. We take a look at what the Fire Emblem does in each game.
Fire Emblem - NES 1991
In the first ever Fire Emblem game, the Fire Emblem was a shield used by Marth. By equiping the Fire Emblem it allows marth to wield the Falchion sword in which he used to defeat Medeus.
Fire Emblem: Monsho no Nazo (Mystery of the Emblem) - SNES 1993
The Fire Emblem was upgrade to the Shield of Seals after collecting 5 orbs - Earth, Darkness, Fire, Light and Star orbs. It was used to defend the user from the Earth dragons protecting Medeus, from attacking the player, clearing the path to Medeus.
Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu (Genealogy of the Holy War) - SNES 1996
The Fire Emblem did not appear in this game at all.
Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 - SNES 2000
Again the Fire Emblem did not appear in this game.
Fire Emblem: Fuin no Tsurugi (Sword of Seals) - GBA 2002
The Fire Emblem was kept by the Royal family of Bern, it was passed down to the new Heir of the throne of bern at their coming of age ceremony.

The Fire Emblem was kept by the Royal family of Bern, it was passed down to the new Heir of the throne of bern at their coming of age ceremony. The Fire Emblem as stolen by the King of Bern to prevent his son Zephiels ceremony to the Throne.
Fire Emblem: Soen no Kiseki (Path of Radiance) - GC 2005
Also known as Lehran's Medallion, the Fire Emblem contained the spirit of an anceint eVil god, who was sealed away by Reysons anceastors. Whoever touches the Emblem will go berserk and will attack anyone or anything. Only those who have a balance of Chaos and Calm and hold the Fire Emblem Safely. It was passed down to Mist from her deceased mother.

The Demon Kings spirit is sealed inside the Fire Emblem which was then split into two.
